After winning Season 1 of the singing reality show Indian Idol, Abhijeet Sawant became well-known. Additionally, he provided the vocals for the well-known song “Mar Jaawan Mit Jaawan” by Aashiq Banaya Aapne. Regarding his private life, he married Shilpa Sawant in 2007. Following his marriage to Shilpa, Abhijeet disclosed in a recent interview that he was using the dating app Tinder. But after his Tinder profile was made public, he quit using the service.

Abhijeet talked candidly about having a Tinder account in a recent interview with Hindi Rush. He revealed that following his marriage to Shilpa Sawant, he signed up for the app. The musician said that one of his pals showed him the dating app while he was in the United States. Additionally, Abhijeet revealed that Shilpa, his wife, was unaware of his Tinder account.

The singer said, “I’m a curious person. I’ve always had curiosity. I was in the US with my friend, and he said, ‘This is a new app. It’s for dating’. I made my profile then, and it was there as it is. Main kabhi kabhi beech mein jaata tha, dekhta tha kya hai yeh sab kya hota hai? Maine apna hi naam rakha tha sab kuch sahi tha. Biwi ko nahi pata tha. But kuch kiya nahi, kisise mila bhi nahi, kuch tha bhi nahi.”

During the interview, Abhijeet also revealed that he occasionally engaged in conversations with women on Tinder when he had an account. The musician also talked about how he stopped using Tinder when the information about his profile appeared on Twitter. He added that after the news was made public, his wife, who had not previously been aware of his Tinder page, learned about it.

He added, “Match aata tha, baat karte the. Yeh cheeze na bohut ajeeb hai. Mujhe baat karne ka shokh hai aur aap ladkiyon se bohut deep baat karsakte ho…Main baat karta tha bohut. 2-3 log mil gaye the jo baat karte the acche se. Baad mein Twitter pe agaya ki mera account hai, phir maine bola ki ‘Yeh accha nahi lagega’. Usko nahi pata abhi tak, ab pata chal raha. Woh bichari usko pata bhi nahi kya hota hai Tinder. Ab pata chalgaya, open yaar, usme kya hai? Cheezein karni hai toh thok k karo phir. Kitna main sab cheeze jod sakta hoon yaar.

Abhijeet Sawant:

In 2007, Abhijeet married Shilpa, a buddy from his youth. The singer said in the same interview that the two had known one another since they were young and had once lived in the same colony. Two children were born to the couple. Together, Abhijeet and Shilpa made an appearance on Season 4 of the dance reality competition Nach Baliye.
