Diljit Dosanjh has had a phenomenal 2025, in his professional life. From his stunning debut at the Met Gala 2025 to playing a quirky detective on-screen in Detective Sherdil, Diljit Dosanjh has been going through a tight schedule this year. However, the actor has recently found himself in hot water amid Sardar Ji 3 controversy. For the unversed, earlier this year, there were speculations that Pakistani actress, Hania Aamir, will be seen playing a key role in the upcoming Diljit Dosanjh starrer, Sardar Ji 3.
Due to rumors that some Pakistani singers might be featured in the upcoming Sardar Ji 3 movie, Diljit Dosanjh has become embroiled in controversy. The movie was supposed to be out on June 27, 2025, but it looks like there may be a delay. News18 said that on June 13, 2025, BN Tiwari, the head of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), denounced actor Diljit Dosanjh and vowed to bar him from the motion picture business. This potential ban on Diljit follows rumors that Pakistani actress Hania Aamir might be appearing in the next movie, Sardar Ji 3. His own words: “If Diljit Dosanjh or any other artist continues to act like this, an action will not just be taken against their film but against them as well. They will be accused of non-cooperation. We have no place for traitors. The film industry cannot support people who are against this country. We need to stop people who are sitting in India but are helping others. We are getting multiple names. They will be ousted from the industry if they do not work for the betterment of the country.”
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees petitioned CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi in a letter dated June 13, 2025, to deny certification for Diljit’s next film, Sardar Ji 3. According to FWICE, the ban on Pakistani content and cooperation with Pakistani artists is a national concern that was prompted by the horrific Pahalgam tragedy on April 22, 2025.
The following is the text of the letter that FWICE sent to Prasoon, the head of CBFC: “In light of recent directives issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B Ministry), prohibiting Pakistani-origin content and collaboration with Pakistani artistes in Indian productions, and the parallel stance adopted by FWICE, we urge CBFC to align with these directives and national interest considerations before proceeding with certification.
