Even in its seventh week at the box office, Mohit Suri’s romantic musical “Saiyaara,” which stars debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, isn’t slowing down. Big releases like “Dhadak 2,” “Coolie,” “War 2,” and “Param Sundari” compete with it, but the movie holds steady and is one of the best-selling films of the past few months.

‘Saiyaara’ has reportedly made Rs 581 crore worldwide, of which Rs 412 crore has come from the Indian box office and Rs 169 crore from international theaters. In its first week of release, the movie brought in Rs 172.75 crore, while in its second week, it brought in Rs 107.75 crore. Even while box office receipts decreased in the weeks that followed, the movie’s momentum held steady, particularly considering how poorly several other star-driven movies performed.

The movie made Rs 28.25 crore in its third week and Rs 14.1 crore in its fourth. It was nevertheless able to increase its total by Rs 2.95 crore by week five. Week six showed steady numbers, with Rs 35 lakh on Friday, Rs 70 lakh on Saturday, and Rs 80 lakh on Sunday, according to trade website Sacnilk.

‘Saiyaara’, which was produced by Yash Raj Films, examines themes of heartache, loss, and love. It stars Aneet Padda as Vaani Batra, a young writer with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease, and Ahaan Panday as Krish Kapoor, a struggling musician.
