Rajat Verma, known for his compelling portrayal of Jay in Ravindra Gautam and Raghuvir Shekhawat’s Dahej Daasi, has been garnering positive feedback for his performance. Produced under the banner of Do Dooni 4 Films, the show has struck a chord with the audience, and Rajat’s role as Jay has been particularly praised. In this blog post, Rajat shares his thoughts on embodying his character, the feedback he has received, and how Jay differs from his real-life personality.
Positive Feedback and Producer Praise
Rajat Verma has received glowing reviews for his portrayal of Jay. “The feedback I’ve been receiving is really positive. . The audience and the channel also seem to love my character, so that’s all going well,” he shared. This recognition is a testament to Rajat’s dedication to his craft and his ability to connect with the audience.
Commitment to the Role
Rajat’s commitment to his role extends beyond his acting. He has been asked to bulk up for his character, a challenge he is tackling despite a hectic schedule. “They’ve asked me to bulk up a bit, which I’m trying to do, despite not having much time for workouts due to my hectic schedule. I only get about 5 hours of sleep a day, so things are quite busy for me. But as long as everyone is happy with my work, I’m content,” Rajat explained.
Portraying Jay Intensity
One aspect of Rajat’s performance that has been particularly praised is his portrayal of Jay’s intense emotions. “Raghuvir sir especially likes my expressions, particularly in the anger scenes, where he feels I portray the character well. He says I come across as a mature and Rajput-type character, which is exactly what the role demands,” Rajat noted. For Rajat, embodying Jay’s character fully is the greatest praise an actor can receive.
Contrast Between Reel and Real Life
Despite his convincing performance as Jay, Rajat Verma reveals that he is quite different from his on-screen persona. “My character comes from a Rajputana background and is the son of the Mahasarpanch, Vindhya Devi. He’s known for his rebellious behavior, but I don’t really relate to him. I’m more of a calm and level-headed person, not as outgoing or quick to take a stand on everything like Jay,” he said.
Balancing Rebellion and Maturity
While Jay acts impulsively and often without considering the consequences, Rajat approaches life with a more mature outlook. “While I do have a rebellious side, I approach things with understanding and maturity, considering different perspectives before making decisions. Jay, on the other hand, tends to act on impulse without much thought, even if it means stepping on others’ toes. So, I find it hard to relate to my character on the show in that sense,” Rajat concluded.
