Popular Indian television actress Shubhangi Atre gained notoriety when she took Shilpa Shinde’s place as “Angoori Bhabhi” in the sitcom Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain. She started to play the part with ease after some initial reservations, and she still does so almost nine years after being replaced. However, Shilpa Shinde’s harsh claim that Shubhangi was imitating her technique in order to play the role is still remembered by everyone. In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Shubhangi Atre discussed Shilpa Shinde’s remarks in detail. She explained that she has always depicted ‘Angoori Bhhahi’ with her uniqueness and has never attempted to mimic anyone.

The actress emphasized that it wasn’t easy to play a character that was already well-known, but she took sure to honor the original while incorporating her own unique style. Shilpa shared her opinions about the position, saying: “The truth is, I am not copying her at all. Look, I completely understand. It’s a great show, and Angoori Bhabhi is such a sweet character. It’s a very interesting role, and such characters are rarely written for television these days.”

Shubhangi frequently stated, without specifically mentioning Shilpa Shinde, that she was fully aware of the criticism directed at her performance. She clarified that speaking Bhojpuri and following the script are characteristics of her part as “Angoori Bhabhi,” but that this does not imply that she was imitating the previous performer. The actress added that there would be a noticeable difference between Shilpa’s and her episodes if anyone looked at the crowd feedback or read the comments.

In an interview with a major entertainment blog, Shilpa Shide stated that she had seen Shubhangi Atre’s acting and that she was a “good copy cat” after she began portraying the character of “Angoori Bhabhi” in 2016. The creators could dress someone in ‘Angoori’s attire, she continued, but playing the role is difficult. Shilpa revealed that although Shubhangi was a talented actor, she might perform better if she would quit copying other people and take on a unique role. For those who don’t know, Shubhangi also played “Koel” in Chidiya Ghar in place of Shilpa Shinde.

‘Angoori Bhabhi’ has been portrayed by Shilpa Shinde since the start of the show in 2015. Following arguments with the show’s producers, she quit the program. The actress gave several reasons for leaving, including harassment by producer Sanjay Kohli, problems with pay and working conditions, and mental anguish. Vikas Gupta, a co-producer, was accused by Shilpa of destroying her career. Benaifer Kohli, the producer, later disclosed that Shubhangi Atre was selected for the role because of her natural beauty and purity.
