A day after the batsman declared his retirement from Test cricket, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma arrived for their favorite place of worship, Vrindavan. The pair was spotted at the Kelly Kunj Ashram, where they spoke with Shri Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj in a profound and spiritual way. The pair had a heart-to-heart conversation and asked the venerated saint for blessings.

A video of the two celebrities riding in a local taxi appeared online on May 13, 2025. They soon paid a visit to the spiritual guru they had a long-standing relationship with. A video of their exchange was posted to Kelly Kunj Ashram’s YouTube account. Anushka Sharma was overheard asking Shri Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj if chanting would help them get what they wanted throughout the conversation. “Kya naam jap se ho jayega?” she asked. In response, Maharaj said that was entirely possible. According to his own experience, he had previously practiced Sankhya, Ashtang, and Karma yoga before coming to Bhakti Yoga.

He qouted, “Completely… I’m sharing this from my life experience. I have come to Bhakti Yoga after experiencing Sankhya Yoga, Ashtang Yoga, and Karma Yoga.”

Shri Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj acknowledged in the same discussion that gaining more notoriety and glory is not regarded as a sign of divine favor. But when that person’s perspective shifts, that’s when his grace comes. He further disclosed that it is the lord who leads his followers to the pinnacle of tranquility.

This was the second time that Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli had visited Vrindavan. Virat sported a sage green shirt and olive green pants, while the actress chose a white suit set with black design. In January 2025, the pair had already been to the spiritual city.
