The sudden death of Karisma Kapoor ex-husband, well-known businessman Sunjay Kapur, on the evening of Thursday, June 12, 2025, has left the iconic Kapoor family in Bollywood in a state of shock and grief. The 53-year-old businessman may have died from an unanticipated bee sting event rather than a heart attack, despite early findings that proved a cardiac arrest was the reason of his death.

Early media reports from News18 and NewsX claim that Sunjay Kapur, who was playing polo in England, inhaled a bee during the match and it allegedly stung him in the throat. A deadly heart arrest is said to have resulted from a severe allergic reaction provoked by the sting.

Additionally, according to sources, the 53-year-old businessman left the field during a sudden pain during his game but collapsed soon after, unable to recover from the shock. According to those who saw the incident happen, Sunjay Kapur was playing against a team led by hotelier Jaisal Singh when the unanticipated mishap happened.

Sunjay Kapur’s final social media post was made just hours before his untimely death, which only served to heighten the sadness. The industrialist lamented the terrible Air India airline tragedy in Ahmedabad, which killed all 241 people and left only one survivor—the A11 passenger—who was able to jump off the emergency exit just before the plane crashed in his final post on X (previously Twitter). In response, Sunjay expressed his condolences for the incident:

Strangely enough, the post was made three days prior to the 53-year-old industrialist’s untimely death. Sanjay shared an image of “what ifs” and “what nots” on X along with the following caption: “Progress demands bold choices, not perfect conditions.

Following the announcement of Sunjay’s passing, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan were spotted arriving late Thursday night at Karisma Kapoor’s Mumbai home to console and support the actress in her grief. Shakeel Ladak, Amrita Arora, and Malaika Arora, Karisma’s close pals, were also seen at her home, clearly distraught by the heartbreaking news.
