In Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Lataa Saberwal portrayed Hina Khan’s on-screen mother. Sanjeev, Lata’s husband, portrayed Hina’s father and Lata’s on-screen spouse in the series. After falling in love on the sets, the pair married in a small ceremony in 2010. On June 21, 2025, Lata announced her separation from Sanjeev on her Instagram account, following 15 years of marriage.

When they traveled to Udaipur to film Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Sanjeev became aware of Lata. Aarav is the name of the couple’s son as well. In her most recent Instagram post, Lata praised her husband Sanjeev for delivering her a lovely son but also disclosed that they were no longer together. She asked her followers to show her respect and keep her family peaceful.

A passage from her message said: “After a prolonged silence I declare that I Lataa Saberwal have been separated from my husband, Mr. Sanjeev Seth. I give my gratitude to him for giving me a lovely son. I wish him all the best for his future life.”

In addition, Lataa stated in her post that she did not want any questions about this to be asked and begged that she not be contacted about it. Interestingly, Lataa and Sanjeev were regarded as two of the greatest jodis to have met on the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai sets.

The news of Lataa and Sanjeev’s split gave internet users the biggest shock of their lives. A user wrote, “Jaise hi lagta hai ki ye jodi best hai waise hi unki divorce ki khabar aa jati hai aap dono ki jodi meri one of favourite thi.” Another said, “Is age me kya sujhi apko India me divorce and suicide fashion bangya hai.” Another user added, “You two appeared so content in your vids… I wish you luck in the future.
