The much awaited sequel to Anurag Basu 2007 masterwork, Life In A. Metro, is making its big-screen comeback after almost twenty years. The movie demonstrated that it is possible to make a significant impression on audiences without the use of extravagant expenditures, raucous dancing sequences, famous people, or a conventional happy conclusion. Konkona Sen Sharma and Irrfan Khan’s characters had a happy ending out of all the characters in the movie and their tale of unrequited love. Konkona recently paid tribute to her late co-star at a promotional event for Metro In Dino, the movie’s sequel.

Before his tragic death from neuroendocrine cancer in April 2020 at the age of 53, Irrfan Khan, who was renowned for his versatility and unique on-screen persona, made a lasting impression with each character he played. His Life In A… Metro co-star Konkona Sen Sharma recently spoke to the media about how much she missed Irrfan while working on the follow-up, Metro In Dino.

She was quoted saying, “There were several moments when I missed him during the shoot of the film. Zamaane lagenge unko bhulane mein.”

Konkona revealed that while filming some poignant portions for Metro In Dino, she was acutely aware of Irrfan Khan’s absence. She now co-stars with Pankaj Tripathi as the sole surviving cast member of Life In A… Metro. Konkona reminisced about her interactions with Irrfan in the original and alluded to the instances where his absence was most felt. She stated:

It occurred numerous times, but I won’t reveal what or when since I believe you’ll know when you see the movie. We will celebrate today.
