Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s latest film, “Animal,” has made waves in the film industry, featuring a star-studded cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, Triptii Dimri, and Anil Kapoor. The movie not only achieved considerable commercial success but also stirred controversy, particularly due to scenes that elicited discomfort among some viewers. Bobby Deol, portraying the negative character Abrar in a brief 15-minute role, offered insights into his perspective on the role in an interview with Zoom Entertainment.

Bobby shared that he didn’t perceive his character as a typical villain in “Animal.” He explained that Abrar witnesses the tragic death of his grandfather, who immolates himself, resulting in the character losing his voice due to the shock. Swearing to avenge his grandfather’s death, Abrar is depicted as a family-oriented man with a romantic side. Despite having three wives, his character is fiercely protective of his family, willing to go to any lengths for them. Bobby aimed to portray the depth and complexity of a character labeled as the antagonist, aiming to evoke empathy by showcasing the character’s deeply rooted reasons for his actions.

Recalling a specific moment during the shooting of a fight sequence, Bobby Deol mentioned that even Ranbir Kapoor commented on the ambiguity, saying, ‘We don’t know who to sympathize with.’ This narrative complexity adds an intriguing layer to the film, challenging traditional perceptions of hero and villain roles.
