For more than 50 years, Amitabh Bachchan has dominated Indian cinema as one of the biggest megastars in the Hindi film business. Big B has unquestionably influenced Indian cinema, from his “angry young man” days to his role-experimentation after the age of 70. The Sholay actor has gained appreciation for his poise and calm demeanor in addition to his outstanding performance. But like any legends, Big B has moments that leave people speechless. The TV actor Saanand Verma talked candidly about one such instance in their life in a recent interview.

Hindi Rush interviewed Saanand Verma, who is well-known for portraying ‘Anokhelal Saxena’ in the comic television series Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain. He recalled during the chat how Amitabh Bachchan handled him in two very different ways when they met. One was surprisingly frigid, whereas the other was really warm. Saanand revealed that while filming a promotional video for his game show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, he got to know Amitabh Bachchan. For Saanand, it was a dream come true because the megastar was kind and they spoke for three long years, which made him feel unique.

In his own words: “I have spoken to many stars, but I didn’t think much about them. But I felt Amitabh Bachchan’s aura when I was shooting Kaun Banega Crorepati’s promo. The first time I met him… he was like… I felt like I was Abhishek Bachchan. I felt like I was his son. We spoke for three hours.”

Saanand anticipated that he and Big B would maintain their friendship when they later met for a second shoot. The actor from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, who was eager to meet him, was astonished when things took a drastic turn. He clarified that the actor who played Don was aloof and somewhat contemptuous of him. Saanand was perplexed since he was unable to identify the reason for Amitabh’s disparate treatment. Saanand recalled the second incident, saying:

“However, the second time I met him to shoot an advertisement, he was very rude. After completing the shoot, I went and told him, ‘I consider myself very fortunate to be able to work with you twice.’ But he didn’t even look at me. He kept staring at a painting and said, ‘Bhagwan kare apko tibara mile.

Amitabh Bachchan:

Saanand Verma revealed that there was a clear contrast between Amitabh Bachchan’s first behavior, in which he gave him his full attention, and his second behavior, in which he disregarded him, in the same industry. In spite of this disparity, he has a great deal of respect and admiration for Big B. There isn’t another actor in the movie business like Amitabh Bachchan, he clarified. But he also discovered that in show business, friends don’t exist.
