Work hard, play harder—and sometimes, relive your childhood on set! That’s exactly what happened behind the scenes of Zee TV’s heartwarming drama, Saru, when lead actors Shagun Pandey (Ved) and Mohak Matkar (Saru)turned a scripted Kho Kho scene into a full-on fun session that brought the whole team together.

Turns out, amidst the heavy emotions and intense drama on screen, the cast found joy in good old-fashioned school-time fun—and the laughter was contagious.

From Rehearsed Action to Real Playground Vibes

In an upcoming sequence, viewers will watch Ved and Saru participate in a lively Kho Kho match, adding an energetic spark to the storyline. But what the cameras didn’t capture was what happened next—when the director yelled “Cut!”, the actors didn’t stop playing.

Instead, what began as a choreographed shoot turned into a real game, with the cast and crew jumping in to play. For a while, the film set felt more like a school playground than a TV show.

Shagun Pandey Shares His Kho Kho Nostalgia

Reflecting on the moment, Shagun Pandey said,

It honestly felt like we were back in school. Kho Kho was such a huge part of my childhood—barefoot runs on dusty fields, getting scolded for staying out late, those tiny bruises we wore like trophies. On set, we forgot about work, the stress, the heat… and just ran around like kids. I think that joy will reflect in the scenes too because we were genuinely having a blast.”

It’s moments like these that remind us—whether you’re a kid in school or an actor on a busy TV set, the simple joys never fade.

But On Screen, Drama Is Heating Up!

While off-screen it’s all fun and games, Saru’s on-screen journey is getting intense. In the coming episodes:

⚡ Will Saru finally discover that she’s the real granddaughter of the Bajaj family?
⚡ Will Anika (Anushka Merchande) succeed in her manipulative plans to sideline Saru?
⚡ And what will Ved do when caught between loyalty and truth?

The stakes are rising, and secrets are about to explode.
