After receiving a stage 2 liver cancer diagnosis in May 2025, well-known TV actress Dipika Kakar had a 14-surgery. Her liver had a tumor the size of a tennis ball, which was successfully removed. Following the enlargement of lymph nodes in her left breast tissue, the actress had mammograms. For the past two years, she has been receiving target therapy. The actress’s family has been her greatest source of support during her healing process. The actress responded to numerous inquiries from her followers over if her father paid her a visit during surgery.

In a recent YouTube video, Dipika addressed questions from her followers about whether her father paid her a visit after she had surgery. After visiting her, Dipika shared a heartfelt video of herself and her father sitting on the couch and having a tearful chat. She revealed that her father visited her both at home and in the hospital. She was unable to film any vlogs with her father because she was not feeling well. According to Dipika, her father advised her to lose weight and got apples for his grandson, Ruhaan.

The actress revealed that the father and daughter had a heart-to-heart conversation: “Toh aaj bhi Papa aaye hain, papa actually pehle bhi milne aaye the aur hospital mein bhi aaye the par main uss recovery phase mein thi. So I think meri surgery ke baad aaj pehla din hai jab humne sukoon se aise time spend kiya hai, aur baat cheet ki hai. Hospital mein bhi jab papa aaye the tab bhi unhone kaha tha ke jab tak main usse dekh na loon mujhe tasalli nahi milegi.”

In addition to meeting her father-in-law, Dipika’s father had visited her at home. The actress, who is a true hero, thanked her father and other family members for supporting her throughout these trying times in her vlog. Dipika’s father did describe her as a courageous person and assured her that she would overcome the obstacles. Dipika disclosed that she is receiving assistance on her road to recovery due to the blessings of her loved ones, particularly her family.

Dipika’s father did commend his daughter for the strength she possessed and shared: “It’s completely natural — the bond between parents and their children is truly special. When a baby cries, a mother can easily understand whether the child is hungry or if their diaper needs changing, just by the way they cry.”
