Vinita talked candidly about the harassment she endured while filming the television show Tara 19 years ago in a Facebook post. She wrote about her experience, describing how he repeatedly assaulted her and tampered with her drink. She also said that it wasn’t an isolated incident.

The Star Plus program, which Kapoor developed and produced, had a cult following and ran from 2000 until 2008.

Actor-politician Smriti Irani is returning to the famous drama, which celebrated its 25th anniversary last month, as Tulsi Virani, a role that earned her a national celebrity.

In a statement that was shared on her Instagram page, Kapoor answered the question that has been bothering fans for a long time: why did she decide to revive the program after all these years?

“My initial response to the suggestion of relaunching ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ as its 25th anniversary drew near was a resounding nay! I want to cast off nostalgia, but why? Nothing compares to nostalgia. It is always the best. The reality of my childhood and my memories of it will never be the same. Additionally, the television industry has evolved,” the producer stated.

“The show gave a voice to women in Indian homes,” she said, citing a study conducted by an international organization.

For the first time, women started taking part in family conversations between 2000 and 2005. This change was greatly impacted by Indian television, particularly “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi” and “Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki.”

“Kyunki” became a world ambassador, preserving India’s storytelling customs around the globe. It was more than just a daily soap opera; it introduced age shaming, marriage r*pe, domestic r*pe, and euthanasia to Indian households’ dinner tables. That was the story’s actual legacy.

Kapoor said she thought about a lot of things during her conversations with “Star Plus” officials and her production company, Balaji Telefims, and that after receiving the answers, she made the decision to move forward with the new show.

‘Let’s do this,’ I said. The show would only have “limited episodes,” she added, but “let’s create a show that stands out in a time dominated by visual gimmicks, that’s not afraid to raise important questions, and that sparks conversations.

Kyunki Saas Abhi Kabhi Bahu Thi:Kyunki Saas Abhi Kabhi Bahu Thi

Cheers to Kyunki, to the storytelling power of stories, to less of the past, and to the future! Nostalgia is something we will never defeat. However, winning is not the goal of the battle. It has to do with Impact! To the performance that is not only ours but also yours!
