Known for his daring performances, Emraan Hashmi made his breakthrough in the thriller Murder, directed by Anurag Basu, in which he portrayed an obsessed lover with multiple kissing scenes. Following the film, the actor became known as Bollywood’s “serial kisser.” In a recent interview, Emraan Hashmi talked about how he used to find serial kisser tag annoying and how it limited his acting career.
He acknowledged becoming irritated with serial kisser tag in a conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia. “I used to get a little irritated when I wanted people to take me a little seriously,” he stated. As you can see, I spent a significant portion of my career from 2003 to 2012 in chhavi ko, doing a lot of gaya tha ki wo ek label ban gaya tha, and marketing was the main issue. The main character of the film is bina wajah cheezein daali jati thi. “Aur media mein bhi jab aata tha ek tag line, toh mere naam se pehle wo tag aata tha” (This image was used in a way that transformed it into a label). It used as a marking tool as well. Items were added to movies without any rhyme or logic. Additionally, the tag would accompany my name in the media.
And this is my personal gift to myself,” the Showtime star continued. I am not placing blame on anyone else. What occurs, though, is that everything happens after you pass the point at which those movies continue. After that, you wish to go on to the following stage. As an actor, you want to be regarded seriously. You strive to make movies where people can see your range. However, they return to the same tag (serial kisser) after witnessing it and claim that there was no such scene.

“I am offering something new,” he said in closing. Acting is what I do. My role is to portray various characters. You want to watch the same thing again, but why? I used to feel a little irritated because of this. Other than that, though, I don’t mind. It doesn’t bother me too much.
