A well-known actor in the business, Govinda made his screen debut in the 1980s and flourished in the 1990s. He worked on back-to-back hits and had scripts produced for him because of his flawless dance routines, exquisite comedy timing, diverse acting, and great screen presence. However, the celebrity who was well-known in the 1990s progressively disappeared, and his movies were unable to captivate viewers in the same way. He tried a few times, but none of them succeeded. Furthermore, he was shunned by talented directors due to rumors of his tardiness and negative demeanor on sets. The actor always responded to inquiries on these topics in his trademark humorous style, but in a recent interview, Sunita Ahuja, his wife, offered her opinion.

In a recent interview with Zoom, Sunita Ahuja discussed her thoughts on Govinda’s waning fame. When questioned about the rumors that Govinda would be coming at the set of his movies several hours late, Sunita said such was not the case. Rather, some people deliberately spread these rumors about her husband, and he fell prey to the politics of the Hindi film industry. The industry doesn’t want people from low-income backgrounds to be successful, she continued.

She stated, “They would spread rumours about Govinda. He would go to the set, and people would talk behind his back. Govinda ke sath politics toh hua hai bahut. No one wants to see a poor guy become famous and successful. So many of his films have been stopped from being released. But why? Because he was a superstar, and I won’t take any name, but there is a lot of politics in the film industry.”

Since many people couldn’t accept Govinda for establishing his identity in the industry, Sunita went on to say that he was a victim of the insider-outsider game. As a result, it has affected her approach to her children, Tina and Yashvardan, who plan to pursue careers in show business. Sunita disclosed that she has communicated to her children that they should not rely on their father to call them and arrange for them to go to work. She clarified that, in contrast to other famous children, her children are self-made because her daughter had a difficult time and her boy will make his debut without the help of their father or a godfather.

Contrary to what Sunita Ahuja alleges, Govinda already had a conversation with Mukesh Khanna on his YouTube channel. The Coolie No. 1 actor acknowledged in his interview that he had a peculiar working style and would frequently arrive late to the sets of his movies.
