Several claims surfaced online a few days ago claiming that Dilip Joshi, who stars in Disha Vakani’s sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, had discovered a new “Daya Ben.” According to certain sources, Kajal Pisal has been cast as “Jethalal’s” wife. Her Instagram post from the sets of the programs went viral as well. Kajal has now denied the rumors that have been going around. With her portrayal as “Daya,” Disha Vakani left a lasting impression on her fans, and TMKOC supporters are curious about who will take her place.

 

A decade has passed since Disha portrayed ‘Daya’. She still calls ‘Jethalal’ “Tappu ke papa” in her typical discourse. Since 2017, she has been on maternity leave and has never returned. After auditions, Asit shared rumors that someone would be chosen for the iconic part, and he even affirmed that there was no chance for the actress to return. In a recent interview with Zoom, Kajal revealed: “I am already working on Jhanak, so this is entirely incorrect. Yes, I did audition for Daya Ben in 2022, and those pictures are resurfacing now. But as of now, I can confirm that this is totally fake news.”

As soon as images of the actress went popular on social media, there were rumors that Kajal would be taking Daya’s place. She also explained that she was receiving calls and texts about all the rumors and that the news was untrue. However, there was no truth to the same.

‘Dayaben’ was the outfit that Kajal shared in 2022. She disclosed that she had tried out but had never received a call from the producers. In her caption, she stated that her career had not been impacted in the least by the false information. Despite her belief in fate, she simply thought that portraying ‘Daya’ would present her with a significant chance. Kajal had stated: “As the media twists a lot of things with no accurate information like they are doing now with my statement… Maybe they had done the same with Asit Modi Sir’s statement on me. That he said, ‘Who Kajal Pisal is?’ yes it’s true that we don’t know each other either personally or professionally. Maybe Daya was a chance for me but certainly missed it … With due respect, I still look forward to work with you in the near future.
