Neil Nitin Mukesh recently talked about his 2009 argument with Shah Rukh Khan, in which Neil begged the superstar to “shut up” at an awards ceremony. To Neil’s chagrin, Shah Rukh had joked about his name during the performance. Everyone thought Neil was upset with Shah Rukh after the show’s tape went viral. But the star recently clarified something.
“My belief is very simple,” Neil stated in an interview with Hindi Rush. We live in a time when—I’m not referring to Shah Rukh Sir, his seniority, and my personal love for him. To be clear, I would never tell my seniors to “shut up,” but it was a concert, and there were a lot of factors involved. I’m not even referring to that discussion, which is completely unrelated.

Neil Nitin Mukesh:
He also mentioned how important his family’s legacy is to him. But how can I explain to everyone that I wish to maintain my feelings for my parents and grandfather’s name if people say this today? My family and I both understand it, and that is more than plenty for me. I won’t attempt to explain this to a fourth party. Allow them to jest if they so choose. Neil Nitin Mukesh is not you. You will ridicule it because you don’t have such a legacy. We are commemorating “100 years of Mukesh,” which makes me proud. I am aware of my grandfather’s identity.
Neil is the grandson of the renowned Mukesh and the son of singer Nitin Mukesh.
