The industry was rocked by actor Mukul Dev’s unexpected demise, which led to a lot of conjecture over what caused it. Actor Rahul Dev, Mukul’s brother, has now come out to provide some insight into the events leading up to his death.

Rahul revealed the cause of his brother Mukul’s passing in an interview with The Times of India.

“He spent eight and a half days in the intensive care unit,” Rahul said. In terms of medicine, it was brought on by bad eating habits. He had not eaten at all for the past four or five days. He was obviously lonely and had lost his zest for life. He would decline multiple job offers… The reality is only now, after all the rituals have been completed, and I am aware that the anguish will only get worse.

According to him, Mukul moved to Delhi in 2019 to take care of their father, who died that year. In 2023, their mother died. Rahul claims that Mukul became withdrawn and dedicated himself to literature. He claimed that his brother was not taking care of himself and that being alone didn’t help, and that he missed his daughter terribly.

According to a number of reports following his passing, Mukul was battling depression; Rahul denies the rumors.

Rahul Dev:

“The people who are speaking out now weren’t even in touch with him,” Rahul stated in response to the reports. Although he ran half-marathons, they claim he was unfit. It was evident that he had put on weight when he lost interest in himself. Who actually kept in contact with him from 2019 until 2024? Did they attend his prayer meeting or pay him a visit while he was in the hospital?
