Rakshabandhan Special: COLORS’ actors share the tales of their ties with their siblings

Rakshabandhan, a festival that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters, is cherished by many, including our favorite TV stars. This year, actors from COLORS’ popular shows share heartwarming stories about their sibling relationships. Let’s dive into their special Rakhi memories and see how they celebrate this beautiful festival.

Tanvi Dogra on Her Bond with Her Brother
Tanvi Dogra, who plays Neeti in COLORS’ ‘Parineetii,’ reminisces about her bond with her brother, Rohan. From holding his tiny hand for the first time to cherishing every moment spent together, Tanvi’s relationship with Rohan has been filled with love and laughter. She shares, “Traveling with him feels like being on a reality show, with his constant entertainment keeping everyone in splits. We’ve had our fair share of fights over Rakshabandhan gifts, but the festival has always been a cherished occasion. He is my biggest fan and always asks for spoilers about Parineetii. No matter where life takes us, he’ll always be my little brother, and I’ll always be his biggest cheerleader.”

Namish Taneja Rakhi Rituals
Namish Taneja, who plays Raghav in COLORS’ ‘Mishri,’ ensures he is home for Rakshabandhan every year. “Our family celebrates this festival with a lot of fanfare,” he says. “We gather in the morning, offer prayers to Matarani, and enjoy a meal together. My sister and I might not express our love verbally, but we have each other’s backs. She’s proud of my work in Mishri, though she never admits it. Every year, she gives the most creative gifts and bluntly asks for her favorite one in return. I’m excited to see what she has planned for me this year. Happy Rakshabandhan to everyone!

Shagun Pandey’s Nostalgic Memories
Shagun Pandey, known for his role as Veer in COLORS’ ‘Mera Balam Thanedaar,’ shares an incredibly close bond with his younger sister. Despite being in different places, she always knows when he’s feeling down. Shagun recalls, “Rakshabandhan brings back memories of my mom trying to wake us up early. My sister would always be ready with the Rakshabandhan thali, teasing Dad about how I was always late. Now, we send food to each other to express our love. She makes sure to have my favorite dishes delivered to me on special days like this one. Happy Rakshabandhan everyone!

Neil Bhatt’ Traditional Celebration
Neil Bhatt, who essays Arjun in COLORS’ ‘Megha Barsenge,’ celebrates Rakshabandhan in a simple, traditional way. “My younger sister, Shikha, ties a rakhi to my wrist, performs aarti, and we sweeten the moment with treats,” Neil shares. This year, things are different as Shikha won’t be there for the celebration. She will send a rakhi, and their mother will tie it on her behalf while Shikha joins through a video call. “Shikha has always been my pillar of support, like a second mother to me. Though we are apart, our bond remains strong. Here’s wishing everyone a joyful Rakshabandhan!

Deepika Singh’s Sibling Love
Deepika Singh, who plays Mangal in COLORS’ ‘Mangal Lakshmi,’ shares a love-hate relationship with her brother. Despite their fights, they are always there for each other. Deepika says, “My brother is the light of my life. The first time he watched Mangal Lakshmi, he said Mangal is my onscreen alter ego. I remember during our school days, he would give me gifts with his own pocket money, making me feel so proud. From those early days to now, he has continuously made me proud. I hope everyone gets to celebrate their siblings on this day!”
