Earlier this week, a dramatic incident outside Raveena Tandon bungalow in Bandra, Mumbai, went viral on social media. The video showed the Bollywood actress and her driver being surrounded by an angry mob. In the clip, Raveena can be heard pleading, “please don’t hit him,” as she tried to protect her driver from the group accusing him of hitting them with her car.
The video quickly garnered attention, leading to a flurry of reactions from both fans and critics. Many were shocked by the incident, while others speculated about what might have happened. Amid the chaos, there were various claims and counterclaims about the events that transpired.
However, recent developments have cleared Raveena and her driver of any wrongdoing. CCTV footage from June 1 revealed that no one was actually harmed by Raveena’s car. The police confirmed that the driver was not driving recklessly; instead, he was simply reversing the car to park it when he was confronted by three women and a man who mistakenly believed they were at risk.
Furthermore, contrary to allegations that Raveena was intoxicated and had assaulted the complainants, the police investigation showed no evidence of such behavior. Both Raveena and her driver were found to be sober at the time of the incident.
An eyewitness at the scene also supported Raveena’s account, confirming that she was not under the influence of alcohol. This testimony further discredited the complainants’ accusations and helped clarify the actual events.
Reports indicate that the complainants even questioned the police with hypothetical scenarios, asking, “Agar gaadi chhu jaati toh (what if the car had touched us)?” This suggests that their accusations were based more on what might have happened rather than what actually did.
When Raveena emerged from her house to understand the commotion, she instructed her driver to go inside to ensure his safety. This act of concern was misinterpreted by some as the driver fleeing the scene, which has since been proven false.
