‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ actor Shailesh Lodha has been approached for the reality show. On August 24, JioHotstar will debut the much awaited season.

According to people familiar with the situation, the producers are eager to include the actor’s name on the roster of celebrities taking part in the program. The “Bigg Boss” team has asked Lodha, who is well-known for portraying Taarak Mehta in the hit sitcom, to take part in the program. The actor hasn’t confirmed his involvement yet, though.

On August 24, the reality series will premiere. India Today had previously stated that the creators intended to modify the format. The first one-hour show will be streamed on JioHotstar at first, while Colors TV will broadcast it live with a delay.

As usual, the digital platform will also be livestreaming the events around-the-clock. In addition, the producers have decided to extend the season this time around; currently, they anticipate a 20–22 week run rather than the customary 15-week run.

Names such as ‘The Traitors’ finalists Apoorva Mukhija and Purav Jha, actors Ram Kapoor and Gautami Kapoor, Dheeraj Dhoopar, Munmun Dutta, Ashish Vidyarthi, and social media inventor Faisal Shaikh are already making the rounds, however we have yet to hear from those who have confirmed. On the other hand, the casting has not been officially confirmed.
