One of Bollywood’s most well-known performers from the 1990s is Sonali Bendre. Sonali has been in the news for her purported connections, just like her career. The actress has finally discussed her relationship with Raj Thackeray, the leader of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), in a recent interview. The rumors that Raj had a crush on the former years ago were also addressed by Sonali.

For a while now, there has been talk about an old video of Sonali and Raj together. There have been rumors that MNS chief Raj Thackeray was infatuated with Sonali Bendre ever since the video was made public. Sonali recently talked about her linkup with Raj and her thoughts on the rumors that Raj is crushing on her in an interview with ANI. For those who are unaware, Sonali was recently seen at an event in Maharashtra with Raj Thackeray. Sonali expressed her skepticism about the rumors that Raj had a crush on the former. “Did he?… I doubt it. I was talking to my sister who was right there.”

Sonali Bendre denounces the rumors circulating about her and Raj Thackeray in the same interview. Given the familial ties between her and Raj, the actress also denounced the linkup craze. Sonali also described how the two families were related.

She stated, “I don’t know. I mean, a lot of people… I think it’s just not in very good taste when people talk about it like that. First of all, I mean, there are families involved and people involved in all of that. Other than the fact that my brother-in-law and my sister… my brother-in-law who’s a cricketer and hence used to play cricket with Raj’s cousin… Sister’s husband and they always played together. Secondly, my sister’s mother-in-law was the head of the department that taught us English literature in the (Ramnarain) Ruia College, which I’m from.

Sonali Bendre:

Sonali went on to discuss the close family ties that exist between her family and Raj’s family. The actress described how, when Sharmila Thackeray was a newborn, her mother, Raj Thackeray’s wife, visited the hospital. Sharmila’s mother and her maasi were best friends, Sonali revealed.
