I’m thrilled to share some exciting insights about the much-anticipated Ganesh sequence in COLORS’ ‘Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyag Tandav’. As many of you know, our show has been a journey of emotions, divine duty, and the powerful relationship between Lord Shiv and Goddess Parvati. Today, I’d like to give you a behind-the-scenes look at what’s coming up.
The Upcoming Ganesh Sequence
Ganesh is universally adored, especially in India, where he’s revered as the remover of obstacles and the god of beginnings. His introduction into our narrative will be a monumental event, setting the stage for an extended and significant storyline. It’s not just a new chapter in the story but an evolution that will keep you glued to your screens.
My Preparations for Playing a Father Again
You might wonder if playing the role of a father again required any special preparation. Since I’ve previously portrayed the father of Kartikeya, stepping into this role felt like welcoming another child into the family. It’s a seamless transition, reflecting the same paternal love and guidance.
Bonding with Young Talent: Riyansh Dabhi
Working with Riyansh Dabhi, who plays the young Ganesh, has been an absolute delight. Despite his initial nervousness, Riyansh quickly showed his talent and professionalism. Off-screen, we’ve developed a wonderful bond. He’s attentive, understands the nuances of his role, and is always ready to deliver his best. His presence on set is truly refreshing.
Portraying Lord Shiva: A New Identity and Responsibility
Portraying Lord Shiva has been a transformative experience for me. It has given me a new identity, with people now addressing me as Shiv ji wherever I go. This role has taught me about wisdom, prosperity, and humanity, deeply influencing my life and behavior. The respect and love I receive are truly humbling.
What Sets My Portrayal of Lord Shiva Apart
The audience’s response to my portrayal of Lord Shiva has been overwhelmingly positive, and for that, I must thank Siddharth Kumar Tewary. Unlike traditional portrayals, Siddharth encouraged me to bring human-like emotions to Shiva’s character. This relatability—showing Shiv’s joy, anger, and compassion—has resonated deeply with viewers, making our rendition unique and compelling.
