Urvashi Dholakia, renowned for her iconic portrayal of the vamp Komolika in the popular TV soap Kasautii Zindagii Kay, recently made an appearance on Siddharth Kannan’s talk show where she delved into her personal life, revealing previously undisclosed details about her divorce and the challenges of being a single mother at the age of 18.
Despite starting her career as a child artist at the age of 6, Urvashi shared that she always harbored a desire for a ‘fairytale’ life. Despite her initial disinterest in work, her yearning for a ‘Cinderella-like world’ prompted her towards marriage. Urvashi expressed, “I was madly in love, and at that time, the concept of marriage was ingrained. My mother, coming from a conservative mindset, emphasized that I could be independent but marriage was a must. I was 16 and not mature enough.”

Discussing her former husband, Urvashi Dholakia revealed that she had known him for about one and a half years before tying the knot. However, shortly after marriage, the idyllic image she had envisioned shattered. Her ex-partner fell out of love and refused to take responsibility for their twin sons, Kshitij Dholakia and Sagar Dholakia, born a year after their marriage. Urvashi, at the tender age of 18, decided to part ways with her then-husband.
