Bollywood star Akshay Kumar was often referred to as the “true successor” of veteran actor Manoj Kumar, who passed away at the age of 87, particularly when it came to portraying characters who reflected a strong love for the nation.

“I have always considered Akshay my successor when it comes to portraying patriotism on screen,” Kumar had previously stated in a media interview. His rendition of my “Hai Preet Jaha Ki Reet Sada” segment in Namaste London was sincere and genuine. When it comes to portraying an Indian who loves the country, no one compares to him.

On social media, Akshay Kumar paid respect to the seasoned performer. “I grew up learning from him that there’s no emotion like love and pride for our country,” he wrote in a post on X. And who else will demonstrate this emotion if we performers don’t? One of our fraternity’s greatest assets, and such a lovely person. Manoj Sir, rest in peace. Om Shanti.”

The actor-director passed away on Friday at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. He was eighty-seven. PM Modi posted a touching social media remark in mourning for the passing.
