Rupali Ganguly, renowned for her iconic portrayal of Monesha Sarabhai in “Sarabhai VS Sarabhai,” returned to the small screen after maternity leave with the highly anticipated “Anupamaa,” garnering immense viewer attention. However, as the show’s storyline elongates, viewers have taken to social media to express their dissatisfaction. In a recent interview, Ganguly addressed the criticism.
The 46-year-old actress found herself embroiled in controversy following remarks directed at a gynecologist critical of her character. Anupamaa portrayal and submissive demeanor have sparked widespread online discussions. Ganguly, when questioned about the trolling during a CNBC interaction, nonchalantly dismissed it, highlighting that the majority of the trolls are women.
In her response, she humorously commented on the trolling culture, particularly by female netizens. Her remarks, however, triggered further backlash on social media platforms. Critics accused her of using derogatory language towards her female audience and questioned her inability to handle criticism gracefully, contrasting her behavior with her co-star Gaurav Khanna approach.
