Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi’s film Bhool Chuk Maaf won’t be showing on big screens. The original release date of the Karan Sharma-directed movie was set for May 9. On May 16, the comedy drama will now be available directly on Prime Video.

The creators made the decision in response to the escalating hostilities between India and Pakistan. Maddock Films posted the news on Instagram on Thursday, May 8.

“In view of the recent events and the increased security exercises throughout the country, we at Maddock Films and Amazon MGM Studios have decided to bring our family entertainer, Bhool Chuk Maaf, directly to your homes on May 16 — only on Prime Video, worldwide,” said the statement that accompanied the announcement.
